School Events

April 20th & 21st - please remember to send the kids to school in their HES shirts on the 20th for the monthly full school Chubby's Project meeting.  The 21st will be the day HES celebrates Earth Day at school.  Please wear green or blue to school on April 21st.

April 27th - This is national take your child to work day.  The school is expecting a larger than normal amount of absences.  Please be sure to communicate to the school if you plan to have your kids out this day

May 1st -  All are invited to our annual May Day celebration.  This will take place at 2:15pm outside on the basketball court.  Please bring a blanket of chair and find a spot on the hillside around the court.  Each grade level will perform a folk dance and the HES advanced orchestra will play.   There will also be a selection of songs performed to celebrate the coming up summer and winter going away.   This event would not be complete without a dance around the Maypole!  (rain date Tues May 2nd)

Teacher Appreciate Week - May 8-12 will be a week of fun events for our amazing teachers and staff!  Our PTO is working hard to plan something for each day school wide.  Your room parents will also be reaching out per class.  Currently on Tuesday May 9th we plan to ask all students to bring in a flower for their teacher.  We will have vases in all classrooms.  This can literally be a stem that is picked on the way to school, nothing crazy.  The goal is to create a collective bouquet from all the students in each class for their teacher.

Field Day – May 24th – get your shirt orders in by THIS FRIDAY APRIL 21st

Digital Wellness - Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents, Hopewell Elementary PTO and the Digital Wellness Initiative invite you to join us on May 11th at 6 pm in the Hopewell Elementary Media Center for "Parenting And Technology: What Do I Need to Know?" Pediatrician and former HES parent, Suze Palinski will discuss technology's effects on things like sleep, mental health, and social skill development. Are screen time or technology use leading to frustration in your family? Come hear what resources are available, what's worked for other families, what Timberlane Middle School faculty and administrators are concerned about, and what steps you can take to raise kids whose use of technology (gaming, devices, social media and the internet) is healthy, intentional and safe.
