School Events

Teacher Appreciate Week - May 8-12 will be a week of fun events for our amazing teachers and staff!  Our PTO is working hard to plan something for each day school wide.  Tuesday May 9th we are asking all students to bring in a flower for their teacher.  We will have vases in all classrooms.  This can literally be a stem that is picked on the way to school, nothing crazy.  The goal is to create a collective bouquet from all the students, in each class, for their teacher.  In addition to the below schedule the PTO will also be leaving the teached some treats and surprises in their mailboxes throughout the week!

Mon- PTO funded Snack Bar for Teachers

Tues- Kids bring in flowers for their teachers

Wed- PTO funded lunch for the staff

Thurs- PTO funded Ice Cream Truck for teachers

Fri- PTO funded teacher massages

Field Day – May 24th – for any families that are new to field day - It's one of the kids favorite days of the year!  Don't forget your blue or yellow shirt (depending on your team assignment) and send the kids to school in comfy clothes, a full water bottle, and lots of suncreen and make sure they are ready to play!

This year PARENTS CAN ATTEND!!!!  Grades 3-5 will be from 9-12 AM and grades K-2 will be from 1-3PM.  You are welcome to come cheer the kids along!  Please go straight to the field, no into the building.

If anyone is available to come set up at 7:30AM, helping hands would be very welcome!  Please email me at aska412@gmail.com to coordinate.

Kindergarten Farm Day - May 31st - This a fun filled day where the kids get to spend the day outside with the animals that come to our school.  Parents will also be welcome to attend this event.  Teachers and room parents will be sending out sign ups and communication.

Fill That Truck

HES is proud to continue our tradition of supporting the families of the East Trenton Center of Habitat for Humanity. We collect gently used donations in the school parking lot on the THIRD M/T/W of every month, from 8am-9:30am.

June Collection: June 12-14

THIS WILL BE THE LAST FILL THE TRUCK DONATION!  Due to the West Trenton center changing their leadership, we will be reevaluating this program for next year and how to best put our community’s generosity to good use!

Digital Wellness - Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents, Hopewell Elementary PTO and the Digital Wellness Initiative invite you to join us on May 11th at 6 pm in the Hopewell Elementary Media Center for "Parenting And Technology: What Do I Need to Know?" Pediatrician and former HES parent, Suze Palinski will discuss technology's effects on things like sleep, mental health, and social skill development. Are screen time or technology use leading to frustration in your family? Come hear what resources are available, what's worked for other families, what Timberlane Middle School faculty and administrators are concerned about, and what steps you can take to raise kids whose use of technology (gaming, devices, social media and the internet) is healthy, intentional and safe.
